PAINFUL REALITY OF THE YOUTHS.

(Case Study Nigeria Youths)

There is a saying and it goes thus; seeing danger and keeping quiet kills the old, but when the warning goes unheeded the Youth dies. We have seen the situation of Nigeria, we have seen the deplorable state of infrastructure, broken public education system, and the criminal ineptitude of today's politicians. The neglect Nigerian Youths suffer is so traumatic that some have chosen as a survival strategy to live in denial of the existence of a  deep sense of deprivation, depression and frustration by taking sides with those who oppress and repress their dreams and aspirations. But we can't go to bed hungry hoping to wake up fed. Denying this harsh reality is the reason the perpetrators find the courage to perpetuate themselves in positions of advantage so as to further inflict injury on the already battered morale of Nigerian Youths. The ugly situation has been made crystal clear to every discerning Youth. We have genuine cause for concern, genuine reason to question our continued coexistence, to demand for a total overhaul of the Nigerian leadership and political apparatus but what do we do? We are faster in condemning one another than we are in demanding for our rights as citizens. We are fast becoming products of a broken society.
Those who are favoured by the counter productive quota system consider themselves privileged and those who are not consider themselves oppressed but both sides are doomed if one half baked, poorly educated misfit gets elected to govern us With quota system certificate. Those who fall in the category of the favoured 97% of the present administration smile and mock the 5%. Oh what a broken place.
In a country like ours what exists amongst us is a relationship similar to what is obtained in the international political system.  A system of we against them, our turn, our people against their people, our roads vs their roads, our universities vs their universities, our senators vs their senators, but when their is economic crunch we bear it together, haven't we become a nation of shared pain and not shared gain? My biggest worry is not what a 75yrs old Sani Kaita says, it's not what a 74yrs old President Muhammadu Buhari says, or what Chukwuemeka Eze Ife says, No, those guys are winding up their political career. My biggest concern and source of worry is what we say, think and do as Youths.
Why do we massage divisive machineries put in place by the older generation for their political gains? Why do we have a soft spot for unproductive, undemocratic, unteachable and underachieving political leaders? For what? Why have we picked up the touch of division and set to run with it? We must foster cohesion, Unity and friendship amongst one another as Youths.  Because If we allow the primordial sentiments that divided the older generation to divide us we will fail where they failed and even fail where they succeeded.
Be a builder not a destroyer .
Am only using Nigeria as case study but the message is for all youths all around the world.
